What is the Class Gift

Dr. Jackson has APPROVED the cube!

We are pursuing a giant functional rubik's cube mounted statue with a novel mechanism as part of a Class of 2013 lounge at the end of the DCC Great Hall.

We have successfully completed a prototype (one third scale of the planned full version). See it below, partially disassembled to reveal the mechanism. Also see a video of the cube in action

.

The Class Gift represents the united effort of the Class to give back to Rensselaer. It gives us the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on the Institute that will be remembered many years into the future.

Some examples of previous Class Gifts are:

  • Class of 2012 - Signage and Benches Outside of the '87 Gymnasium
  • Class of 2009 - Lounge in the Union's Games Room
  • Class of 2008 - Electronic Carillon Bells on top of Union
  • Class of 2005 - Waterfall located in Common's Quad
  • Class of 1887 - The '87 Gymnasium (Donated on the Class 25th anniversary)
  • Class of 1886 - The '86 Field (Donated on the Class 25th anniversary)

Benefits of Giving

There are many benefits to contributing to the Class Gift. The first and longest lasting is the pride of having participated in a great charitable event and the knowledge that you and your Classmates have left a lasting legacy here at RPI.

Contributing towards the Class Gift is a great way to:

  • Leave a legacy that will be remembered for years
